Easily confused with

Side by side, with what tells them apart.

Two mottled wrasses with red spots on the head and, in large adults, a three-lobed tail. Floral Wrasse has black and white specks on its pelvic, anal and tail fins. Tripletail Wrasse lacks those specks; instead each body scale carries a short vertical red line, red lines radiate from the eye, and its tail is green with a red edge.
