Terms of use
Last updated: 30 August 2026
Dory is a free, community project for logging and sharing reef-fish sightings around Vanuatu. By using it you agree to the following.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Use a real, working email so you can recover access. One person, one account.
What you post
Log sightings honestly and only at places you actually observed the fish. Do not post someone else’s private location, contact details, or anything harassing, hateful, misleading, or unlawful. Do not use notes or your profile for advertising or spam.
You keep ownership of your sightings and notes, and you grant Dory permission to display them within the app as described in the privacy policy.
Moderation
You can report a sighting or profile from within the app. We may hide content, clear a note or profile text, or suspend an account that breaks these terms. You can delete your own account at any time from your settings.
Wildlife
Dory is for observation. Respect local fishing regulations and marine protected areas. Locations for threatened species are deliberately coarsened; do not try to work around that.
No warranty
Dory is provided “as is”, with no guarantee of availability or accuracy. Species information is drawn from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons and may be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on it to decide what is safe to touch, eat, or approach.
Changes
These terms may change as the app grows. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.
