Striped Monocle Bream

The young are the ones mixed up: both are striped black and yellow on the upper half, with a black mark on the dorsal fin -- the Two-lined Monocle Bream's young copy a venomous fangblenny. Adults are easier. The two-lined has a black-edged white band that arches from below the eye to the middle of the dorsal fin, and a white blotch below the rear of the dorsal fin. The Striped Monocle Bream has three yellowish-white stripes along an olive-brown back.
