Halichoeres scapularis, commonly called the zigzag wrasse, is a species of marine ray-finned fish in the family Labridae. It is native to the Indo-West Pacific.

Females and young of both are greenish to yellowish above and white below. Zigzag Wrasse has a black zigzag stripe from the eye to the top of the tail base, continuing forward as a yellow stripe to the snout. Threespot Wrasse has no zigzag: look for a black spot at the top of the pectoral fin base and another, about the size of the eye, on top of the tail base.
