Look-alikeYellowstripe Goatfish

Both are pale goatfish with a yellow stripe from the eye to the tail, and both rest in schools by day. Yellowstripe Goatfish has a grey to olive back, a longer snout, and usually a dark blotch on the side below the first dorsal fin. Yellowfin Goatfish has a red-orange back, bright yellow fins all round and no dark blotch; it sometimes schools with Common Bluestripe Snapper and then shows blue stripes itself.
