Two big grey emperors of sand and seagrass near reefs. Longface Emperor has the longest snout of any emperor, straight to slightly concave in profile and marked with wavy dark streaks, and it reaches a metre. Yellowlip Emperor has a shorter snout, yellow lips -- the upper one brightest -- a red spot at the top of the pectoral fin base, and reddish edges on its dorsal and tail fins.
